From the Editor

Happy holidays to all of the CCAS membership. I would like to take a moment and congratulate all of the new CCAS officers and board members for their new appointments.

I have decided for the upcoming newsletters to have more of a themed approach to the education portion of the newsletter.  The theme of this winter’s newsletter is mechanical circulatory support in children, to that end I think you will find the educational material from many different cardiac centers quite interesting.

I would also ask that you pay particular attention to the outline of the upcoming CCAS meeting in Las Vegas. Jumbo Williams, MB, Wanda Miller-Hance, MD and Nina Guzzetta, MD have put a tremendous amount of effort and time into preparing what is sure to be a top notch program.

Finally, please pay special attention to our new website and the educational offerings and echo images that Mark D. Twite, MD and Wanda Miller-Hance, MD, have put together, I think you will find this most useful as we continue to educate ourselves and others about this exciting and challenging field of anesthesia.

Have a wonderful holiday season and I look forward to seeing you all for a large turn out in Vegas.
